Thomas grew up in Southeast Alaska and is a proud resident of Petersburg. At the age of 12, Thomas began working as a deckhand on his father’s drift-gillnet boat, the F/V CHESAPEAKE, in False Pass and continued to fish summers in the Aleutians for the next decade and a half.
After earning his Juris Doctorate degree from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, Thomas focused his practice on assisting clients in the Pacific Northwest. While working as an attorney in Seattle, Tom provided a variety of legal services to businesses and individuals in the commercial fishing industries and in recreational yachting.
Thomas is fluent in Italian, an avid guitarist, and is the proud co-owner of his own law practice with his spouse, Sarah.
Sarah was raised in Pennsylvania and Oregon by a hospital data analyst and a chemical engineer. After graduating from Oregon State University with a Honors Bachelor of Science in Philosophy, she worked for 2 years as a trial paralegal before starting law school in Portland. At Lewis & Clark Law School, she tried seven cases to decision as a Certified Law Student, earned her Juris Doctor cum laude, and met her now-spouse Tom.
After passing the bar, Sarah clerked for Judge James R. Verellen of the Washington State Court of Appeals. She then worked as an associate attorney for a Seattle law firm representing health care professionals and hospitals.
Sarah now lives in beautiful Petersburg, Alaska with Tom, her partner in law & life, and Dobby, their spectacular cat.
